HFSLIP 1.7.9 (and newer) supports three methods:
For a successful IE8 slipstream, you should:
If you want to slipstream IE8 but HFSLIP fails to detect a CD tag in your SOURCE folder, slipstreaming won't take place. Instead, HFSLIP will display a warning message and then create a new, standalone installer which will be installed at T-13.
For this installation method to succeed you must make sure that you have the latest IE8 setup package released on October 2007 in the HF folder. This version no longer performs a validation check which is a good thing because you can only activate your copy of Windows after the final reboot. Failing to provide the latest setup package will result in IE7 not installing on Windows versions that need to be activated.
This method requires modifyPE.exe from modpe081.zip in the HFTOOLS folder.
To let HFSLIP know that you prefer this method, specify IE7GUILOGON=1 in HFANSWER.INI (see section Extras).
